Seven to nine hours is thought to be more than sufficient. However, the average American goes to bed by 10:30 p.m, falls asleep by 11:00 p.m. and wakes up at 5:00 a.m. to be to work by 9:00 a.m. This means that on average he or she only gets six hours of sleep on a good night.

If you can squeeze in a twenty minute power knap between the time you get home and dinner, you’ll get enough sleep to rejuvenate your body. Try getting to bed earlier and avoid foods that will keep you awake so you can fall asleep within 25 minutes of going to bed.

Getting enough rest is really hard when you work 60 hours a week. I heard that taking a knap energizes you, so that is a great idea.
